THC Sensor

THC sensor is a device designed to enable monitoring of plasma torch arc voltage by the USB-MC motion controller in order to realize THC function (Torch Height Control). More closely, the role of the THC sensor is to adapt arc voltage obtained from a plasma inverter and transfer it in safe and reliable way to the USB-MC controller.

THC sensor features galvanic isolation of the signal from plasma inverter and two input options are possible: with voltage ratio 50:1 or 1:1.

Using THC regulator integrated in USB-MC motion controller it is possible to realize torch height control on plasma cutting machines.

Input circuit of THC sensor is designed to suppress noise that is present during plasma cutting. Input circuit, output circuit, and also power supply circuit are all galvanically isolated one from each other.

Minumum configuration for realisation of THC operation:

- USB-MC motion controller,
- USB-UIO1 breakout board for USB-MC motion controller, and
- THC Sensor.

Before installation procedure and working with the equipment it is required to reed the user and installation manual. It is necessary to be completely sure of understanding possible dangers and also completely assured that installation can be performed in a safe manner.
It's important to always keep in mind that voltage levels present inside THC Sensor are lethal.
